Willie Nelson just announced that he’ll be dropping his highly anticipated ‘Heroes’ album May 15 with Legacy Recordings. The record will feature a variety of talents from within and beyond the country genre — names like Snoop Dogg, Kris Kristofferson, Merle Haggard, Billy Joe Shaver, Sheryl Crow, Jamey Johnson, Lukas Nelson and Micah Nelson.

Country legend Willie Nelson has been forced to postpone back-to-back shows this week due to an unspecified illness. A statement on his website only explained Thursday night’s postponement in Washington D.C., saying, “The show tonight at 9:30 Club has been postponed due to illness. All tickets will be honored for the new date once it is rescheduled. Check back soon for more details.”
Willie Nelson is one of the first country stars to comment on the Occupy Wall Street protests, and the legend is giving the demonstrations a big thumbs up. Nelson wrote a poem that could be titled ‘We’re the Ones With the 99,’ and along with his wife, recites it in the video below.

Nelson covered the band’s hit song ‘The Scientist’ recently, contributing his version to the soundtrack of a short film entitled ‘Back to the Start.’
