Taylor Swift has made a generous donation to the Houston Food Bank in the wake of Hurricane Harvey. According to reports, the superstar is honoring her mother Andrea with the donation.

Swift's mother lived in Houston growing up and graduated from Memorial High School before attending college locally, and her sister Alison -- Taylor's aunt -- still lives there. Houston Culture Map reports that Swift often calls out her mother's roots in the area when she performs in Houston, and Andrea has been known to offer prime seats to groups of local Houston fans.

"Taylor Swift has generously made a very sizable donation to Houston Food Bank in honor of her mother who graduated from the University of Houston," the group posted to Facebook. "We thank you, Taylor, and we thank everyone for donating to help rebuild our community. #houstonstrong."

In a separate statement, the group revealed they've received upward of half a million dollars in donations since Hurricane Harvey from celebrities including Demi Lovato, Nick Jonas, DNCE, Metallica, Katie Couric, Gwyneth Paltrow, Aziz Ansari, Larry David, Simon Biles and Craig Biggio.
