Last week Hayden Carlo of Plano was pulled over for having an expired registration. Carlo, offered the officer not much more for an excuse than "it's my fault." What the officer did next will surprise you, and serve as an amazing reminder just how many great people there are in this world.

CBSDFW reports that Carlo told the officer, “There’s no explanation for why I haven’t done it, except I don’t have the money. It was either feed my kids or get my registration done.”

The officer, who never told anyone what he did next and has asked to remain anonymous, did do his job and he issued Carlo a citation for the violation. But that's not all the kind-hearted police officer gave him. Enclosed in the citation was a $100 bill.

What an exceptional nod to the human spirit.

Carlo told CBSDFW that with the money he was able to update the registrations on both his and his wife’s car. He now has a new job and credits the officer's generous and unexpected gift, for helping to get him back on his feet.

“He helped me out when I needed it and I appreciate that. I’ll never forget that man,” Carlo says.
