Texting and Driving: Should It Be a Primary Offense in Texas? [POLL]
Texting has become a major distraction to many drivers on the roads today, and many states are taking actions against such behaviors. Should Texas do the same?
In Virginia, police officers can now pull over anyone using their phone to text or email. Previously, officers could not do so unless there was another reason (a traffic violation or the like).
Virginia is not the first state to initiate this - more than two-thirds of the United States have made texting and driving a primary offense, along with the District of Columbia.
For a first-time offense the fine is $125, but upon a second time the fine will double to $250.
So, what do you think? Should Texas do the same?
