Tyler is located quite a ways from Egypt, but for one night, the spirit of Egypt will be at the Willow Brook Country Club in Tyler thanks to the Discovery Science Place Foundation where a camel will be a part of the welcoming committee for this one night gala entitled "A Night at the Museum: Splendor of the Sphinx" along with a talking sphinx, mummy and a sarcophagus.

The Discovery Science Foundation is the part of The Discovery Science Place that is in charge of fundraising which goes toward providing traveling and permanent exhibits along with special programs at the DSP that focus on science, technology, engineering and math for young minds to explore and learn from.  The foundation has partnered with the University of Texas at Tyler to improve science education and literacy rates of East Texas students.

With this years theme tied to Egypt the DSP has also partnered with Tyler Junior College's CESSE and their Egypt exhibit.  The gala will be held Saturday, September 29th at 7p at Willow Brook Country Club in Tyler.  Tickets for the event can be purchased at the Discovery Science Place on N. Broadway in Tyler.  The evening will be filled with dancing and live music from the un-Egyptian Magills!  All proceeds benefit the Discovery Science Place Foundation.
