KNUE and Taste of Country are giving you the chance to win an autographed guitar by George Strait. For the last few weeks we've brought you fun stories about King George and all of our favorite videos. This story however is one that isn't talked about often and brings out a more vulnerable side of George Strait. The Jenifer Strait Memorial Foundation is a charity very near and dear to George and his wife, Norma's heart, and there's a good reason why.

Shortly before midnight on June 25, 1986, Jenifer Strait was riding in the car with friends. The driver tried to make a turn but was going to fast and lost control. Jenifer- the 13 year-old daughter of George and Norma Strait, had her window down and did not have a seat belt on, causing her to be the lone fatality in that horrific accident.

In her memory, the Strait family set up the Jenifer Strait Memorial Foundation. All the proceeds to the foundation are divided up among San Antonio children's charities such as Boys and Girls Club of San Antonio, Boysville, Greater San Marcos Youth Council, and more local charities.

The Jenifer Strait Foundation accepts private donations, which come mostly by word-of-mouth from friends and fans. Unlike other charities, there are no high-profile concerts or celebrity events that help to benefit the fund. That's just not George's style.

If you'd like to help George Strait's favorite charity, you can make your donation out to:

Here's a video of George singing his hit "You'll Be There," which is thought to be in dedication to his daughter.
