If someone asked you, "What is the most underrated brewery in East Texas," would you have a response?

Thrilllist.com recently released a list of the most underrated breweries in each state. They claim Live Oak Brewing Co. in Austin should have the title. We want to know your thoughts on the most underrated closer to home.

First, let's talk Tyler.

There are three breweries located in Tyler. Yes, we are counted BJ's, but there are two more that are locally owned and operated, True Vine Brewery and ETX Brewing Company.

True Vine Brewing Company hosts events monthly called "Open Taps." They happen to be hosting one tomorrow, featuring music from Senor Gringo, food from Curbside Taco and benefiting Children's Miracle Network.

Their Open Taps events are always family and pet friendly, held in their own backyard. They offer True Vine Root Beer and filtered water for all visitors. Check their website and follow their facebook page for upcoming events, and times.

Located in Downtown Tyler, ETX Brewing Company is open Wednesday through Friday from 4 pm till 10 pm-ish. They are open Saturdays from noon till 10 pm. Like True Vine, they also support local artists, and work with food vendors.

Tonight at 7 pm, Brothers & Sisters will perform, while Meredith Crawford is scheduled for the same time tomorrow night.

Now, let's talk Longview.

Longview has a long beer brewing history. From 1966-1983, Longview was home to a Schlitz brewery. In 1983, the brewery converted to Stroh's and continued production until 1994. While Longview is also home to BJ's Brewhouse, it is also home to a new locally owned spot.

Fast forward 23 years, and now Downtown home to the Oil Horse Brewing Company, the first micro-brewery in Longview. Open Thursday and Friday from 5-9 pm.

They host Trivia on Thursdays, and Poses and Pints on the third Saturday of the month, pairing with Longview Yoga, "to get an amazing hour of yoga with our beer to follow." Cost is $10 per adult, and $5 for the kids. Each getting yoga and a pint, root beer for the kids.

Willing to drive just a bit further to experience a Dallas Blonde?

Deep Ellum Brewing Company is found in one of the hippest parts of Dallas. They offer fun events and live music like ours closer to home. If you find yourself in the Metroplex this summer you might want to try Dallas Blonde.

Plus, their 7th Annual Brew-BQ is this Sunday, May 28!
