Top Five: Texas Love Songs for Valentine’s Day
It’s Valentine’s Day, today. So, whether it’s the day you decide to finally ask that special someone out, drop that initial “L bomb,” pop the question, or go get wings and beers with friends, today is special. Here are my “Top Five: Texas Love Songs for Valentine’s Day.”
Randy Rogers Band "Steal You Away"
"He ain't listening to a word you say. He doesn't look at you the way I would. I should steal you away... In the middle of the night come take your heart, I should steal you away."
Eli Young Band "Always the Love Songs"
"With the fire down low, held your girl real close. Made you wanna love the one you were with, gave you the courage for that first kiss. It was the love songs, always the love songs."
Aaron Watson "Shut Up and Dance"
"Just for once lets forget about making ends meet, or who has the nicest car on the street. Darlin' let loose and let your hair down, we're staying at home for a night on the town."
Hayes Carll ft. Ann Hearst "Another Like You"
"Ain't that the way we do, its true, we fall for the first one. How come it always ends up the worst one?.. I don't know if it's forever, but I'm glad that we're together, I have never seen another like you."
Pat Green "Crazy"
"If I am truly crazy, don't you know I like my life that way. If I'm really goin' on out of my mind, won't you hop on board and make your get-away."
One of my all-time-favorite songs off "Three Days," is also a great love song. And for me, well deserving of our top spot.
