The Texas Freshwater Fisheries Center in Athens, is holding a Halloween Fest at the Hatchery on October 27th from 6p-8:30p. This provides a safe trick-or-treating for children and usually draws close to 3,000 guests annually.Tons of businesses and organizations dress up and give away free candy. The fest benefits the East Texas Crisis Center, which provides safety, shelter, and education for victims of family violence, sexual assault, and other violent crimes. Henderson County Rainbow Room, which works alongside CPS caseworkers to provide critical needs of abused children  and the Henderson County Humane Society which is a shelter for unwanted, stray or abused animals.

The center will be decorated with a "haunted area" for brave souls and a "fright-free" area for smaller kids.  You kids can also enjoy playing games at the many games booths, along with trick-or-treating.
