Tyler City Council to Consider Special Election for Beer and Wine Sales
The City Council is expected to consider a resolution this week calling for a special election which would allow citizens to vote this November for the sale of beer and wine in Tyler.
The resolution will be discussed and voted on during their regular scheduled meeting this Wednesday, July 25.
The item calls for a Special election for beer & wine off premises and to extend the legal sale of mixed beverages in restaurants to current city limits.
Recently a group petitioning the sale of beer and wine sales in Tyler and Smith County Precinct 2 collected more than 16,000 signatures, more than enough required to be considered to be placed on the November 6 ballot.
