Tyler Movie Theater Posts Sign Banning Guns

Carmike Cinemas in Tyler have posted a sign against the carrying of any weapons inside the theater. East Texans are concerned about the effects this may have.

The posted sign states that no one carrying a gun may enter the premise, whether they have a license or not.

East Texans have expressed opinions both supporting and disagreeing with the sign. Many people are concerned that this new rule will encourage criminals to enter the theater because they know that no one inside will have defense weapons. On the other hand, some believe that this will keep the theater a safer place altogether.

Another sign has been posted in the lobby of Carmike stating that all bags are subject to search now.

All of these actions have been made by corporate Carmike in an attempt to create safer environments for their theaters.
