When I was a kid my parents / grandparents enforced curfew on me and ultimately the tradition was passed down to my children. Even today, whenever I go out I tell my mom where I’m going and what time to expect me back home.  Remember this?

It’s 10pm, do you know where your children are?

Well, as summer is still underway and school is still out for most, the Tyler Police Department wants to remind minors and their parents about the curfew in Tyler, Texas.

Curfew hours are as follows:

  • 11:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. any day except Friday or Saturday
  • 12 midnight to 6 a.m. Friday and Saturday

Minors are any person under the age of 17 and under the Tyler Curfew Law it is unlawful for a minor to remain in a public place or on the premises of any establishment within the City during curfew hours. It is also unlawful for a parent with knowledge to permit, or by insufficient control allow, the minor to remain in any public place or on the premises of any establishment within the City during curfew hours.

With the summer months upon us parents it's very important to talk to your children about being responsible and staying safe.  For more information on the curfew law visit the Tyler PD website.
