National Library week begins this Monday April 8 and runs through April 14, and the Tyler Public Library is running its annual Lego contest to highlight the importance of Libraries and Library Services.

Participants are invited to “Tell Us a Story” for this year’s contest that will run from 3:30 to 6:30 p.m., for four days, from Monday, April 9 through Thursday, April 12 in the Library lobby. Participants are welcome to attend all afternoons, but entries must be completed by 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, April 6. The Library will provide all materials while participants provide the creativity and imagination.

We want to provide a place for community involvement,” said Youth Services Librarian Linda Gray. “The Tyler Public Library offers a diverse collection of books and programs for all ages. We hope that every citizen of Tyler will get a Library card and take advantage of what we have to offer.

Winners will be announced April 17 with entries being judged on creativity. First place winners in each age category will receive a Lego® themed prize.  Runners up will receive a certificate. All entries will be shown in the Library’s display cases throughout the month of April
