The annual Tyler Rose Festival Arts and Crafts Fair returns to Tyler on Saturday, Oct. 15 and Sunday, Oct. 16.

Due to upcoming renovations at Bergfeld Park, this year’s fair will be held at Southside Park on the Rose Rudman Trail located at 455 Shiloh Rd. Hosted by the Tyler Parks and Recreation Department, the Fair will feature more than 70 vendors offering handcrafted items for sale. Wares will include metal art, stone carving, photography, jewelry, candles, organic bath and body products, clothing, pottery, sewing, wreaths and florals, art-mix-media paintings, plants, face painting and more. This will be an excellent event to get a jump start on holiday shopping, especially for unique gift ideas.

The Arts and Crafts Fair will be open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 15 and from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 16. Admission is free to the public. The Kids’ Zone (includes bungee jump and bounce houses) and concessions will be available for a fee. Reserved bus parking will be provided on S. Donnybrook Ave.

Beginning at 11 a.m., Saturday’s special entertainment is as follows:
• 11 a.m. – local favorite, Patrick Odom
• 1 p.m. – Clarkston Chorale and Patriot Voices, Jack Elementary
• 2 p.m. – George Faber

On Sunday, Oct. 16 at 2 p.m., Mikayla Griffin and her band will perform a concert that the public is sure to enjoy. Griffin is a 15-year old singer songwriter from Cleburne, Texas. Rumor has it that she learned to speak and sing at the same time. Growing up watching her grandfather perform, she fell into singing and writing songs as if it were just something everyone did. She has been on stage since she was eight and has become a regular favorite at the House of Blues in Dallas and has also performed at the House of Blues in Las Vegas.

Participants of this event should bring a lawn chair or blanket to fully enjoy the music and activities.
