Tyler Teenager Struck by Truck, Killed While Riding His Bike

A 15-year-old boy in Tyler was killed Tuesday (Aug. 7) while riding his bike when he was struck by a truck while crossing a road.

Martin Gutierrez was reportedly on his way home when he was struck by a sanitation truck near Greenbriar Road and Highway 31 West in Tyler.

The Texas Department of Public Safety told KLTV it appeared Gutierrez crossed the street in front of the truck, and the driver did not see him.

The incident is still under investigation.
