UT Tyler Suddenlink Patriot Million Dollar Hole in One Has Started
It's back! The UT Tyler Suddenlink Patriot Million Dollar Hole in One starts this Saturday on the campus of UT Tyler. Come take your shot Saturday May 9 through May 16.
The event begins Saturday, with qualifying set to begin at 10 am. If you want to qualify, come by and purchase shots on-site or in advance from a Patriot. Shots are $1 each, and can be purchased in sets of five.
When you buy 25 shots on-site you'll be awarded five free shots, so there's incentive to buy many at one time. Money raised from the event goes towards scholarships for students who attend UT Tyler.
This contest offers amateur golfers age 18 and older the opportunity to compete, at $1 per shot, in preliminary daily rounds. Daily qualifiers are those who hit a hole-in-one, as well as those who hit closest to the hole during the daily qualifying rounds. Those who qualify advance to the finals which are set to take place at Hollytree Country Club on Sunday, May 17, 2015 at 4:00 PM. Qualifiers have the opportunity to win $1 million dollars, a Cadillac SRX or $25,000 with a hole in one.
This is the 29th annual event, and while no one has won the Million Dollar prize yet, Patriots are hopeful it will happen this year.
A new feature that has been implemented in the past few years is the corporate lane. A lane may be sponsored by a business or group of friends, and will be granted a guaranteed qualifier from their group. Corporate lanes will take place on Saturday, Tuesday and Wednesday evenings this year.
Another awesome opportunity to qualify is our two late night events where we qualify one person each hour. The Saturday Night Shoot-Out which is set for May 9th and Friday Night Lights on Friday May 15th. Both nights a qualifier will be taken each our from 7-11 pm.
