The baseball program in Van was one of many things that suffered after the May tornado, and the Texas Rangers have chipped in to help.

The whole Van Vandals team went to Arlington this week to collect a check for $10,000 from the Rangers organization.

The Vandals did their town proud this season, making a run to the state semifinals for the first time in program history. The coach told KLTV that the experience of attending the Rangers game and being on the field for batting practice is one that will help their program as they set their sights on a state championship in the future.

How cool would it be if they won one? That sounds like a Hollywood movie waiting to happen.
