As he promised his fans, Wade Hayes has shifted gears to 100 percent music now that he has completed his chemo therapy for his stage IV colon cancer. The singer announced his battle with the disease late last year.

The latest tune from Hayes — which he wrote about the emotional rollercoaster he went on from the early stages of his diagnosis — is called ‘Is It Already Time.’ The song is available through an exclusive digital download from Country Weekly.

In a recent interview with Taste of Country, Hayes opened up about his cancer battle. “Some say I have a 50/50 chance of surviving and some say I have a one in four chance of surviving, because once it spreads, it’s in your system,” the singer told us last month. “I’m thankful because it was a miracle that they were able to get all of the cancer out because it had spread so far in my liver.”

The singer’s cancer is now in remission. “Everything looks good [now],” he said at the time, eluding to the fact he would be heading back into the studio once he got back on his feet. “I have a lot to look forward to. Sometimes I get down, thinking I have a one in four chance of living … it bums me out. But what can you do? Do your best, and that’s what I’m trying to do.”
