Congratulations to the Whitehouse Wildcat fishing team of Will Hughes and Carter Henderson who reeled in first place at the Texas High School Bass Association State tournament at San Miguel Park at Toledo Bend.

With a total weight of 37.84 pounds, the pair won the title and picked up a scholarship worth $20,000, which they plan to split evenly.

“It was awesome,” Hughes told the Whitehouse Tr-County Leader. “It all came together. It was pretty surreal.”

Will Hughes plans to attend Stephen F. Austin State University in the fall, and Carter Henderson will attend Texas A&M University.
