The long wait for Uncle Lucius to release their fourth studio album is almost finished. And your first chance to buy it is Friday night in Tyler.

The official release date for 'The Light' is Tuesday, June 9, but the boys from South Austin, Texas, are going to have copies for sale at their show Friday (June 5) at Stanley's Famous Pit BBQ in Tyler.

Uncle Lucius, who are releasing 'The Light' after experiencing their breakout with 'And You Are Me,' have slowly been unveiling a song at a time on various sites. They released their second single off the album, 'Don't Own the Right,' last month after unveiling the title track in April.

“Musically, we have evolved beyond what we have done before,” frontman Kevin Galloway told the Times Record News in Wichita Falls. “We’re still us, but we’re reaching toward something else. We feel like it’s the best thing we’ve done, and we’re ready to really get out there and find the next level.”

After departing from their record label, Uncle Lucius raised $30,000 from fans on an Indiegogo campaign to launch 'The Light' independently. Boo Clap/Thirty Tigers, responsible for releasing albums from the likes of Sturgill Simpson and Jason Isbell, are handling distribution and marketing for 'The Light.'

For the record, you don't want to miss this show. I've had the chance to listen to all of 'The Light' several times, and it might just be Uncle Lucius' best work yet, if you can believe it.

It'll get real crowded real fast Friday night at Stanley's, so get there early. Cover is $15 at the door, and when it's full, no one will be allowed in.

You can pre-order 'The Light' right here on iTunes and receive 'Don't Own the Right' immediately.
