According to a Lufkin Police report, on Monday evening a man was arrested for public intoxication at a restaurant parking lot.  He identified himself to police as Christopher Columbus.

No need to worry, we doubt there will be any changes forthcoming to American History textbooks.

"Juan Villanueva, 63, was arrested on a charge of public intoxication after a Little Caesars employee found him sleeping in the parking lot with a bottle of Mad Dog 20/20 in his hand. When an officer asked Villanueva's name, the man told him "Christopher Columbus." The officer then asked Villanueva to comply with a field sobriety test, but Villanueva asked to just be taken to jail. After placing him under arrest, the officer found another half-empty bottle of the drink inside Villanueva's jacket."
