It looks like another national retail chain is in trouble.  This week, video game giant Game Stop announced that it will be closing somewhere in the neighborhood of 200 stores across the United States and abroad.

The game and accessories buy, sell, and trade leader will shut the doors on 180-200 stores before the end of the current fiscal year - which just happens to be the end of this month.  According to CNBC, the video gaming juggernaut has already closed 195 stores since the second quarter of last year.  What's worse, officials with Game Stop say that it is likely the company will close even more stores.

Executives with Game Stop say that they are targeting under-performing stores, but would not say which stores would be shutting down or how many employees would be affected.

Currently, GameStop operates more than 5,700 stores in 144 countries - 3 are located in the Shreveport / Bossier City area.
