If you have never been before you need to go. Yes, you can go during the week and go check out all the awesome antique shops, or feel like you're back in time visiting Jefferson's Famous General Store.

If I Visit Jefferson, Texas I Must Eat at Riverport Barbecue.

It's one of the best places in the Ark-La-Tex for barbecue and for many East Texans, this place is a destination of sorts. Who doesn't love to travel for food right?

Nutty's Is a Shop in the Heart of Downtown Jefferson.

To me, this shop is new, I have passed by it several times and never really bothered to drop in until recently. This store has all kinds of candies and they even have some ice cream ready to serve. However, what makes everyone drop-in is the fresh-milled peanut butter available in 12 different flavors.

If you stop in, you'll meet one of the owners and they'll let you sample all the peanut butter options. I tried a few options and went home with the Peanut Butter Cup flavor, my only regret is not buying more of this delicious peanut butter. I am not a fan of peanut butter, but this place is cranking out the best peanut butter I have ever had.
