Tyler Will Hold National Night Out Event On October 1st
If you've lived in Texas at all, you know that Texans like to do things a little bit differently. Texas is known as a rather friendly state, and for the most part Texans are. We want to get out, mingle, and meet our neighbors and other people, but not when it's 98 degrees with a heat index of 108.
That's why Texas holds its National Night Out gathering in October and not August like the rest of the nation does!
Those in Arizona, Mississippi, Florida, Oklahoma, and wherever else it's hot can hold their events in August, but we're gonna hold our block parties when it's more Fall-ish in Texas and not during the middle of Summer!
National Night Out is Tuesday, October 8th
The City Of Tyler Municipal Court, along with the Tyler Police and Fire Departments, announced they would be hosting a National Night Out Block Party for the entire city. The event will take place on Tuesday, October 1st from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. in the parking lot of the Municipal Court at 813 N Broadway Ave in Tyler.
This event will be a full week ahead of the Texas celebration and will offer citizens a chance to mingle and get to know law enforcement and other members of the city and strengthen those bonds and relationships.
The event will feature food, prizes, face painting for anyone, games, and additional activities.
Hopefully, this kick-off event will be a launching pad for other neighborhood gatherings so when Texas celebrates National Night Out a week later many other Tyler neighborhoods and areas of the city will be coming together and celebrating and meeting new people and making new relationships.
If you'd like to be a part of the municipal court's event or receive information on how to coordinate your
