It's hard to find outdoor activities and festivals this time of the year in East Texas because it's usually too cold for us to do anything outdoors! We East Texans want to stay indoors where it's warm!

But if you enjoy the cooler and colder weather, there are some things for you to take part in this weekend. If the cold doesn't bother you, you can go try your luck at disc golf in Tyler.

There are plenty of things for you to do indoors this weekend where you can stay out of the cold once the anticipated cold front moves through the area and slowly drops our daytime highs.

20th Annual Ice Bowl Disc Golf Tournament

Lindsey Park - Tyler

This is the 20th celebration of disc golf at Lindsey Park. The day is filled with fun and competition throughout the entire tournament. This is a charitable event supporting the East Texas Food Bank. Amateurs to seasoned pros are invited out to take part in the tournament. Pre-registration is required.

Adventures In Nature: A Caddo Mounds Creative STEM Camp

Caddo Mounds State Historic Site - Alto

During a six-day Creative STEM family experience, community partners and families will explore Caddo Mounds SHS and engage unique ecosystems through a braided Creative STEM approach. In this braided approach, families will explore land conservation through the strands of Traditional Ecological Knowledge (TEK), the Arts, and Western-based Science.
For ages 8-11. Advanced registration is required for this event.

Longview Exotic Reptile and Pet Show

Join us in Longview for the HERPS East Texas reptile and exotic pet show. Thousands of reptiles, amphibians, feeders, invertebrates, supplies, and more will be available to purchase in this two day event. See and meet some of the top breeders from all over the country. We will have an educational section for the kids and adults that will let you get up close and personal with some of the most exotic animals on the planet. Food trucks will be set up both days, so plan your entire weekend around it! Show and sale open to the public and there is an admission fee to attend.

Ron Taylor is a stand-up comedian, writer, and actor who hails from Detroit and currently lives in Los Angeles. He was just cast as a series regular on Freeform’s comedy series, NONE OF THE ABOVE. In 2018 he was selected as a New Face at the Just for Laughs Festival in Montreal and in 2017 he performed at the festival as part of Kevin Hart’s talent showcase LOL LIVE. Ron has been featured on B.E.T’s “Apollo Live,” Fox TV’s “Laughs,” and on numerous viral videos on the All Def-Digital network. He was handpicked by Bill Burr to perform on Comedy Central’s stand-up series, The Ringers. This is a ticketed event with multiple show times available.
