Who’s Left on ‘American Idol’? Season 23 Top 7 Contestants
Anything is possible for the remaining contestants on American Idol. Season 23 is down to the Top 7 after two singers went home on Monday night (May 5).
- On Monday, Idol singers performed songs from chosen by judges.
- Two contestants with the lowest fan vote total were in danger of going home, but judges were allowed to save one.
- American Idol next airs on ABC on Sunday (May 11).
Carrie Underwood, Lionel Richie and Luke Bryan have maintained the supportive approach that has defined this show since its move to ABC several years ago. Still, Bryan and Richie have proven they'll be honest when a contestant just doesn't have it.
Who Went Home on American Idol?
Monday night's American Idol could have been a shocker for country fans. The two singers with the lowest vote total were Josh King and Mattie Pruitt, who has been one of the country favorites since auditioning with Craig Campbell.
It was up to Richie and Bryan to choose one to save (the night's program gave them the responsibility, with Underwood sitting it out). In the end, Josh King left Season 23 of American Idol.
