Severe Weather a Possibility Tonight

After sunset this evening a strong storm system will move through East Texas and along with it, the possibility of strong to severe showers and thunderstorms.

The line of storms will begin to develop late this afternoon to the west and begin moving through East Texas by 10PM tonight and 6AM on Tuesday morning. The storms will be more severe the farther west you go because the amount of energy needed to create severe storms will be greater the farther west you are. There will still be sufficient energy in the atmosphere across all of East Texas to produce severe storms with winds in excess of 60 mph.
