2015 Country Cares Radiothon

Texas country star Josh Abbott is just one of the many celebrities who supports the efforts of St. Jude Children's Hospital, and he says the treatment and research facility is unlike any other.

When Jessica looks at her 2-year-old daughter she can't help but flash back to when she was that age. It's a bittersweet memory — the Evansville, Ind. native started her treatment at St. Jude Children's Research Hospital at age two, and she has the scars to prove it.

This year the Country Cares arm of St. Jude Children's Research Hospital's fundraising celebrates its 26th year. Randy Owen has been the face of a platform that has included hundreds of country radio stations and raised over $600 million dollars. He says he has a successor in mind, and a goal to hit before he steps away.

This is the 19th year 101.5 KNUE and St. Jude Children's Research Hospital have partnered for the 'Country Cares Radiothon.' It couldn't be possible without your help, and we hope you'll join us again this year.

On Thursday and Friday, March 5-6, Taste of Country will turn its focus to the kids at the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. For a second straight year you'll learn of the heartbreak no one should ever be saddled with, and how country music is making a difference.

Did you know that it costs St. Jude Children's Research Hospital $2 million each day to operate? Or that St. Jude has the best survival rates for some of the most deadly childhood cancers in the world?

East Texas has been so generous in the past raising money for St Jude Children's Research Hospital. In the years KNUE has been a part of the Country Cares Radiothon, we have collectively raised more $2.5 million here locally for such a great cause!
