The lack of rainfall combined with high temperatures has lead to burn bans being issued in some East Texas counties.

Despite much needed rain, only one of four East Texas counties has lifted its burn ban.

Just because the temperatures have cooled, doesn't mean that the fire danger goes away. Three counties have issued burn bans, so far, in East Texas.

Two counties in East Texas are now under burn bans, Anderson and Henderson. A burn ban means that conditions have been deemed unsafe to do any outdoor burning. If you are caught burning while a ban is in effect, you could face fines from the county...

Last week portions of East Texas received some much needed rain after a dry and hot July and first half of August. Prior to the cool front and rain, pretty much all of East Texas was under a burn ban except for a few far northern counties.
