Maci Drewry of Tyler was diagnosed with Cystic Fibrosis at three years old, and her passion to find a cure has resulted in a series of fund-raising efforts including a lemonade stand set up today in front of The Market near Fresh by Brookshire's from 12 p.m. - 3 p.m.

We hear stories all the time about ordinary people doing extraordinary things all over the world. But a lot of people don't realize there are people doing amazing things right in their own backyard. We thought it would only be appropriate to start recognizing these local people who are making a difference here in East Texas as well as across the country.

To highlight the growing need for awareness about cystic fibrosis (CF), the CF Foundation recognizes the month of May as National CF Awareness Month. During this time — and all year-round — volunteers and people with CF and their families unite to help shine a spotlight on what CF is and the progress being made toward a cure.
