East Texas, I'm disappointed in you. Not one single person alerted us that Tuesday (February 12) the Forklift Rodeo was at Maude Cobb in Longview. We, meaning me, needed to be there to check this out.

It's not too early to make your plans for July 4. And in Longview, there will be some great entertainment before the fireworks.

Today the Longview Chamber of Commerce business expo is at Maude Cobb Activity Center from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. If you do business in Longview and surrounding areas, this a great time to network! It's a free event, so take some time to stop by this afternoon.

It's always great when a star from East Texas comes home to entertain the family. I'm so looking forward to seeing and meeting Longview native Rodney Carrington on Thursday at the Maude Cobb Convention Center in Longview.

Rodney Carrington is coming home to perform for his hometown. Rodney is a stand-up comedian, actor and country singer who was born and raised in Longview, Texas.  From 1988 to 1990, Carrington worked as a comedian in local venues, gaining exposure through radio programs such as The Bob and Tom Show.
