Noonday

Noonday is a small East Texas town and known to be "home of the famous East Texas Sweet Onion," according to the city of Noonday.

Noonday received its name from Captain Edward W. Smith, who was a leading planter in the area, The town was later incorporated in 1981and a mayor and five aldermen were elected.

The land around Noonday is said to be good farming land. One staple crop in the city is onions, Texas' leading vegetable crop.
