Few things in country music fan culture are more adorable than stories about Thomas Rhett that involve his wife, Lauren Akins, and their young daughters, Willa Gray and Ada James. That sweetness carries over to unrecorded live cut "To the Guys That Date My Girls" -- unless, of course, you grow up to be the teenager on the receiving end of Rhett's stern advice.

Rhett played the acoustic number recently during two tour stops, in Alabama (posted above) and Mississippi. The crowd in Alabama whooped encouragement as Rhett tried out the stern, protective dad role quite a few years before the family will fend off hormonal boys or start coping with an empty nest.

The mostly serious tribute to fatherhood isn't without its funny moments. After admitting that he, too, was once a teenager with questionable intentions, Rhett suggests to "leave room for Jesus" when snuggling with one of his daughters because "if you ever cross that line, I swear, boy you're going to meet him."

On his most recent album, Center Point Road, the singer dedicates several tracks to more immediate aspects of family life and fatherhood. He also spends plenty of time on the project celebrating his wife, Lauren.

Rhett continues his Very Hot Summer Tour through mid-October. The tour features opening support by his famous dad, Rhett Akins, plus Dustin Lynch and Russell Dickerson. The ongoing tour supports the May 31 release of Center Point Road.
