One thing I can appreciate is a good hamburger.  So the city of Athens, Texas - the official home and birthplace of the hamburger - is proud to throw their annual Uncle Fletch Davis Hamburger Festival on Saturday September 23rd, 2017 from 10 am to 3 pm.

According to the website, Uncle Fletch Davis created the hamburger and wanted to share his invention at the 1904 St. Louis World’s Fair.  Over the years Athens has hosted the Uncle Fletch Hamburger Festival to bring hamburger lovers together from East Texas and beyond.

The event is free to the public and if you would like to become a vendor you can click here.

We heard there may be some bobbing for burgers... you know. Like instead of apples, it's burgers? Anyway, come check it out if you like burgers! We know you do.

Note: it is hotly debated on whether Athens is the true home of the hamburger, but Texas Monthly and Texas Escapes certainly think so.
