An Amber Alert is being issued for 4-year-old Lucas Calvert, who police say was taken from his home near Pollard Park in Tyler by his father, 41 year-old James Calvert.

KLTV in Tyler reports the shooting happened near Southern Oaks Baptist Church, Pollard Park and Andy Woods Middle School, at South Bain Place and Amherst. The TV station also reports the mother and her son were staying at a house owned by the church, which was helping her stay at the home while she was in school and preparing to move out of town. She also worked at the church nursery.
Police have released the identity of the victim, 30-year-old Jelena Radovanovic Sriraman.
Court records show the couple had been in a custody dispute since 2009.
Calvert is wanted on a capital murder charge in connection with the shooting. Police have set up a 24-hour tip line for anyone who has information that may help in the investigation. That number is 903-595-7220.
