Buddy Logan

I got into radio when I was about 15, some DJ let me on his show and that was it. After that I spent that last 2 years of high school working, interning and doing random things at KID-FM in Idaho Falls, ID. Yeah, I graduated HS in Idaho. But right after high school I moved to where my true home to be, East Texas. When I finished at Kilgore College I was planning on going on to get my bachelors but for some reason or another decided it was time to do something different. The year was 2002, I was 20 years old and I was joining the Army. I left for basic training in September 2002. The Army wasn't bad, I met a lot of great friends, and got to see some different places. I was stationed in Friedberg Germany, which is where Elvis was stationed during his enlistment, before finishing up at Fort Hood. I spent 2 tours (nearly 29 months) in Iraq, from May '03 through June '04 and October '06 through January '08. I was honorably discharged in April 2008 with the rank of Sergeant and an intimate understanding of how great this country is. After I got out, the very next day I moved back to East Texas. I enrolled at The University of Texas at Tyler and began getting used to and enjoying civilian life. I graduated in May '10 with a BBA in Business Marketing (one of those useful degrees.) This brings us right up to the end of December 2010 when I got back into radio. So come on, you're invited to checkout my show Radio Texas, LIVE! live every Saturday night.

What Were the Best Selling Christmas Gifts from 1980 – 2011?

The Chive posted the best selling gifts every year since 1980. I was born in '81, so this was a great trip down memory lane, but it was also an eye-opener. Check this out.

The No. 1 gift in 1980 was a Rubik's Cube retailing for $1.99. The No. 1 gift in 2010? An  Apple iPad retailing, then, for $499.99. That's just crazy.

The 50 Biggest Songs in Texas for 2012 — Where Did Your Favorite Land?

What a year it was for music in Texas. Denton based Eli Young Band's "Even if it Breaks Your Heart," a Will Hoge penned song, was nominated for a Grammy. JB and the Moonshine Band scored a Rolling Stone Magazine Top 5 Country album with "Beer for Breakfast." It was a breakout year for bands like The Damn Quails and even Kyle Park -- who, even though he's enjoyed a long career touring the scene and playing to sold out crowds, was yet to have a No.1 or even a Top 10 radio single. In 2012 he did both.
