Josh Hamilton’s Four Home Run Bat Heads to Cooperstown
Last week Josh Hamilton became the 16th player ever to hit four home runs in a single game, securing himself a place in the history books — as if he hadn’t done enough already. Now, the bat he used that night in Baltimore is headed to Cooperstown to forever live in the Hall of Fame. It broke last night in the Rangers’ 13-6 win over the Angels, so now it can officially be retired to the Hall.

Water Sports Event Coming to Lake Palestine for Children with Disabilities
There is a really cool event coming to Lake Palestine on Saturday, July 7. It’s called an “Adaptive Aquafest” and is for children and adults with disabilities to experience water skiing! If you are not the parent of, or personally know anyone with a disability, then you may have never thought about the fact that they can’t experience water sports like the rest of us.
Two East Texans Pitching Against Each Other Tonight
A pretty cool event is taking place tonight in Major League Baseball. Maybe it’s not a huge deal to most of the rest of the sports world, but for us here in East Texas, it is! Two East Texans will face each other on the mound tonight. Josh Tomlin from Whitehouse and Philip Humber from Carthage will face off as Tomlin’s Cleveland Indians and Humber’s Chicago White Sox meet at 7:10 p.m. at U.S. Cellular Field in Chicago.
Pickups to be Targeted During ‘Click It or Ticket’ Campaign
There’s no doubt East Texans have a love affair with their pickups. In fact, one in four registered vehicles in the state of Texas are pickups. The sad news is, in a 2011 study conducted by the Texas Transportation Institute, only 80 percent of pickup truck drivers buckle up. This is compared to 90 percent of regular seat-belt users in all other types of vehicles.
College Student Goes Viral for Picture of Herself With President Obama
Madalyn Starkey was in a college bar in Boulder, Colo., when President Barack Obama strolled through. Needless to say, she was shocked! She had a friend snap the now famous picture and she posted it to her Twitter.

Couple Steals Foul Ball From a Little Kid at Texas Rangers Game [VIDEO]
You’ve got to see this video that’s making the rounds today from last nights (4/25) Texas Rangers game. The Rangers first baseman Mitch Moreland pitches a ball up into the stands towards a little kid and a guy sitting next to him steals the ball out of mid air. The little boy proceeds to start crying as the guy and his wife or girlfriend begins showing off the souvenir and taking pictures holding the ball.
Ivan ‘Pudge’ Rodriguez to Retire From Baseball Today
One of the best catchers in baseball history, and certainly Rangers history, will hang up his glove for good today. Pudge Rodriguez will officially announce his retirement after 21 years in the league. The best part – he’ll do it where it all began – in Texas.
