Brad Paisley has been given the supreme honor of playing for President Obama and the First Lady as the sole performer for the annual White House Salute to the Military USO concert, which take place on the South Lawn of the White House grounds on July 4.

The country superstar will entertain 1,200 troops and military family members during the show as well, with family-friendly games and a barbecue scheduled for the attendees. Paisley and the servicemen and women will also have a premium view of the night’s fireworks display celebration in the nation’s capital.

But this isn’t the ‘Waitin’ on a Woman’ singer’s first rodeo. Paisley first performed at the White House in 2009 as part of the White House Music Series. “I think about my kids and this generation, and you are the first president they’re going to remember,” the singer said just before taking the stage for his inaugural performance for the President (quote via CNN). Paisley then launched into his retrospective hit, ‘Welcome to the Future.’

Not only is performing at the White House a big deal, but July 4 is a meaningful holiday to the singer.

“My grandfather was in the Philippines fighting against the Japanese during World War II — and now I record for Sony and played Japan twice on tour, and loved every minute,” Paisley explains of his personal connection. “If you’d go back in time and tell my grandfather during air raid sirens, ‘Hang on there. Your grandson — they’re gonna love him,’ he never would have believed it.”

Fans hoping to catch the concert can do so online by logging on to the White House’s official website. The show will be broadcasted at 8:10PM ET on July 4, 2012.

Once Paisley wraps his duties at Obama’s house, he will return to the road on his Virtual Reality headlining trek. In May, the ‘This is Country Music’ singer extended the outing by a large margin, inviting a bevy of country newcomers including the Band Perry, Scotty McCreery, Easton Corbin, Jana Kramer, Love and Theft and Kristen Kelly to provide opening entertainment.
