Today, the Internet got a taste of Steven Spielberg's upcoming motion-capture animated film, 'The Adventures of Tintin,' thanks to a stunning trailer that promises one epic 3-D joyride.
If Spielberg's name isn't enough to get you hooked, try this: 'Tintin' was produced by Peter Jackson and co-written by Edgar Wright.
This is the time of the year when the studios pull out their big guns for what's sure to be another epic summer movie season.
And it looks like there could be a few moneymakers this weekend, with the hilarious 'Bridesmaids' (from the producers of 'Knocked Up' and 'The 40-Year-Old Virgin') and the big screen adaptation of 'Priest' opening in theaters.

May 7, 2011 According to Rotten Tomatoes.com, 'Thor' the movie is a hit. 'Thor' opened Friday and stars Natalie Portman, Anthony Hopkins and heart throb Chris Hemsworth. Rotten Tomatoes gives it a 79% with the audience showing more love with an 84%. 'Thor' spans the Marvel University from present day Earth to the mystical realm Asgard. April 28, 2011 Warner Bros. on Wednesday released the official trailer for 'Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2,' and by the looks of it, the franchise is poised to go out with a serious bang.
In this epic teaser, Harry's story comes to a close as he prepares for his final showdown with the evil Lord Voldemort, whose chilling and taunting voiceover plays throughout.
The trailer also highlights some pretty awesome-looking special effects, high-flying action sequences and a few sombre moments between Harry, Ron and Hermione.
Two new movies are opening nationwide this weekend. One is the fifth installment (yes, fifth) of the popular summer blockbuster series 'The Fast and the Furious', this time called 'Fast Five'. Most of the main players in the series are back for more high action, high energy scenes, with tons of car crashes.
The other big release this weekend is a movie called 'Prom', which as you might have guessed focuses on the events surrounding and leading up to a high school prom. It's hard to say which film will do better at the box office, as these films are targeted to two completely different audiences. Which one would you rather see?

April 25, 2011 Over the weekend I saw the movie 'Water For Elephants' starring Oscar winning actress Reese Witherspoon and actor Robert Pattinson. I had read the book written by talented author, Sara Gruen, several years before. I fell in love with the story then, and even more after I saw the film.
Even with the critics being unkind about the film, I loved it! I found it too be a beautiful, interesting and romantic period film.
Emmy and Tony Award winner Hal Holbrook, whom I did not know was even in the film, gives a stirring and touching performance. Read more and watch the movie trailer after the jump.
It was another high-flying weekend at the box office for 'Rio.'
The kids' animated movie, featuring the voices of Anne Hathaway and Jesse Eisenberg, took the number one spot for the second weekend in a row, earning an impressive $28.6 million on over 3,800 screens. Since its release last weekend, the movie has grossed $81.3 million and counting.
April 22, 2011 Two new movies are opening nationwide this this weekend. One is a film adaptation of the bestselling novel 'Water for Elephants,' starring Robert Pattinson (in a non-vampire role) and Academy Award winner Reese Witherspoon.
The other is a sequel in a long line of sequels in the 'Madea' franchise, called 'Madea's Big Happy Family.' It's hard to say which film will do better at the box office, as one looks to be aiming for Oscar consideration while the other is an ensemble comedy with a well-known leading character.

April 18, 2011 Once again, an animated movie found itself ruling the weekend box office.
In this case, it was 'Rio.' The high-flying kids' movie, which features the voice talent of Anne Hathaway, Jesse Eisenberg and more, pulled in an estimated $40 million, making it the year's best opening thus far.
Coming in at a distant second was the much-anticipated 'Scream 4,' which opened with an underwhelming $19.3 million. That number is especially disappointing, considering 'Scream 3' grossed $34.7 million in its opening weekend 11 years ago.
April 18, 2011 Talk about a bizarre chain of events: Oscar-winning actor Nicolas Cage was arrested early Saturday morning in New Orleans on charges of public drunkenness, disturbing the peace and domestic abuse battery.
The arrest stemmed from an argument Cage had with his wife, Alice, about the location of the house they were renting.
According to a statement from the New Orleans Police Department, "Cage and his wife were standing in front of a residence that he insisted was the property the couple was renting. She disagreed, and Cage grabbed her by the upper arm and pulled her to what he believed was the correct address. There were no signs of injury on his wife's arm."
