Johnny Cooper was our guest last week on Radio Texas Live. Performing live shows since he was 16, Cooper now at the age of 23, has done more live shows and has more experiences to draw from than many of his elder musicians.
Based out of Fort Worth, Green River Ordinance have been playing together for over 12 years and have had the opportunity to open for huge bands like Bon Jovi, Train and Counting Crows. They've enjoyed Billboard Top 40 success with two singles, “Come On” and “On Your Own." And last week the native Texans finally made their RTX debut. So put on your "Dancing Shoes" then check out our conversation.
Last week RC Edwards of the Turnpike Troubadours called into Radio Texas Live. We talked about about their new single "Gin, Smoke, Lies", their concert at Electric Cowboy (WHICH WAS AWESOME!) and their new album "Goodbye Normal Street."
Our good pal, Aaron Watson will be live this Thursday, March 29 at Graham Central Station in Longview. To help build anticipation for the monster-sized concert, Watson called in to the show last week and each time he did we hooked up one lucky listener with Meet and Greet passes for the show -- Plus we had our usual buckets o' fun. Check out the audio all you Honky-Tonk-Kid-Heads and be sure to get signed up for your chance at Meet and Greets.
Last week the band Mockingbird Sun was my in-studio guest on Radio Texas Live. They told us about having to open for Reckless Kelly during one of the best games in baseball history and the trouble you'll likely run into when trying to sing at a bar while everyone's trying to watch one of the best games in baseball history, the guys also sang for us and we debuted their new single "That Girl Tonight".
Rita Ballou joins the RTX Crew each week for All the Dirt in Red Dirt and here's what she had for us last week: A Wade Bowen update, news on who's going to be Cody Canada and The Departed's new tour-mate, we of course talk about Josh Abbott's new 'Touch' video plus so much more.
When Adam Hood stopped by Radio Texas Live last week we talked about everything from "wallerin around on stage" with Grammy and Golden Globe winner Ryan Bingham to the bridge that his friend Miranda Lambert's music has provided between him and his daughter and of course his amazing music.
JB and the Moonshine Band have a brand new album "Beer for Breakfast" out Tuesday (March 6) and in another RTX-clusive they stopped by for the world premiere of that brand new album. If you missed it don't worry, we've got all five tracks that have only been heard on Radio Texas Live, right here in the RTX Rewind.
