This week Texan Cody Johnson goes head to head with Oklahomans The Damn Quails in what may wind up being the toughest RTX New Music Challenge to date -- may the best band win.
Wow. These New Music Challenges certainly aren't getting any easier. The two songs I've chosen this week couldn't be more different, in fact the only thing they may have in common is their fairly lengthy titles. Well, that and the singers of both are two of the best at what they do. This week Jon Wolfe's "It All Happened in a Honky Tonk" goes head to head with Adam Hood's "Hard Times in the Land of Plenty."
Alrighty, by now we all know how this works. Each week we pit two brand new Texas songs against each other and let 'em duke it out for your affection. Some times the songs have a common theme, often times they don't. This week they do. It's the first All Girl RTX New Music Challenge, as Bri Bagwell goes up against Kristen Kelly.
