It. Just. Won't. Stop.

The rain came and kept coming late Thursday night and into Friday morning, leaving behind a wealth of water in Dallas, stranding motorists and causing traffic jams miles long.

As much as seven inches of rain fell in parts of North Texas Thursday night and Friday morning. The City of Dallas reports 6.8 inches dropped on the city. One man in Mesquite died after his truck was submerged in the water.

The Trinity River reached 36 feet and is expected to crest at 43 feet on Friday. If that does happen, it could cause even more flooding problems.

Gov. Greg Abbott declared another 24 counties as disaster areas, bringing the state's total to 70. That's more than a fourth of the state.

Flooding is so bad on Loop 12 that the road to Interstate 30 is now closed for the next week.
