I bet your friends in California or Colorado wouldn't have a problem with this.

Amazon is the go-to shopping destination for online users in this era and I'm pretty sure some time in the distant future, this story will not be an issue. But the majority of the U.S. still views marijuana as an illegal drug, so this 65-pound mistake is a big no-no.

WFTV News reported today that a Florida couple ordered four 27-gallon storage bins earlier this summer because they were going to put some things in... well storage. What they received from Amazon did come with bins, but they also contained 65 pounds of pot.

They opened the box and got hit with a skunky smell and after opening up the packaging, they discovered the drugs. Then they immediately called the police.

The woman, who asked to remain anonymous, said the first officer was in disbelief, but eventually the police seized the drugs and began an investigation.

KSAT 12, an ABC affiliate reports that the vendor on Amazon was called Warehouse Deals and the container was shipped by UPS. The couple decided not to stay in their home for a few days out of fear for what might come to their house afterward. They also tried to get an explanation and an apology from Amazon, taking more than a month of back and forth emails according to the news.

At the end, all they received was a $150 gift card and a message saying: "I am unable to do anything else at this time."

Someone is missing a lot of money/weed. This could have been a bad situation.

"There was no concern for a customer's safety," the woman told KSAT. "I mean this could have turned into a worst case scenario."

An Amazon spokesperson reached out to our stations to let us know that the company is working with law enforcement to further investigate the case:

Our customer service team worked directly with the customer to address concerns and will work with law enforcement to investigate the case, as needed.

We will update this story as it unfolds.
