Snow is in the forecast for this weekend for a portion of East Texas, it’ll be localized to Bergfeld Park in Tyler.  So pull out your gloves and toboggan and get ready for Holiday In The Park!  It’s the 6th year for Holiday in the Park and is presented by Tyler Parks and Recreation and will be happening on Friday and Saturday, December 9th and 10th.

Events at this year’s celebration include:  a tubing hill, a kid’s snow play area, entertainment, pony rides, a movie, kids activities and more than 85,000 pounds of snow!

Holiday In The Park will be open Friday from 4p to 8p and again Saturday from 10a to 5p.

Catch entertainment on Bergfeld Parks’ amphitheater stage Friday evening at 7p with a performance from Artistic Dance Concepts and then Saturday, area choirs and dance groups will be performing from 11:30a to 5p and the evening will end with a special 3-D showing of The Polar Express on stage at 6p.  3-D glasses will be provided to the first 500 attendees.

Saturday, Holiday In The Park will be filled with more than 40 different vendors displaying great gifts to purchase for your friends, family or even yourself!

Debbie Isham, special events and recreation manager at Tyler Parks and Recreation, says,

This is a wonderful and fun family event for the City of Tyler.  It is a chance for everyone in the community to come out and enjoy the park, the snow, the local entertainment and greet neighbors before the holiday.”

Tyler Parks and Recreation expect this years Holiday in the Park event to be the biggest to date.  So get ready for the snow East Texas and bring the kids our for some great fun.  The snow play, movie and entertainment are free of any charges.  Some activities may require a charge and there will be concessions for sale and with items from the bazaar.
