I'll never forget the first time I met Ronnie Dunn and Kix Brooks. It was at the "Tops in Texas Rodeo" in Jacksonville and I was bringing them on stage. It was the summer of 1991. The duo's career had just started with the release of their Brand New Man album and "Boot Scootin' Boogie" was their first single."Boot Scootin' Boogie" was written by Ronnie Dunn and recorded by Brooks and Dunn, but before it's  release, the band Asleep at the Wheel recorded it on their 1990 album "Keepin' Me Up Nights." "Boot Scootin' Boogie" was intended to be the b-side to its second single, "My Next Broken Heart."

They had a long relationship and now they both have a successful solo careers.
