Man Fights Off Alligator to Save His Dog’s Life

Orlando Sentinel

We all know the dog is man’s best friend, and especially this case, just like a family member. So much that a man risked his own life to save his dog from an alligator.Steve Gustafson, a 66-year-old grandfather and retirement home community resident in Orlando, Fla., was trimming trees when he heard Bounce, his 9-year-old Terrier, yelping in terror.

“I just knew that my best friend was going to be dead,” Steve told the Orlando Sentinel. ”And I took off.”

So, he sprung into action.

Steve saw his dog being taken away by a seven-foot gator by the shoulder, so he jumped on the gator’s back and fought to save his dog’s life. Both escaped without serious injuries.
