Neal McCoy’s Father Passed Away on Saturday

We are sad to learn of the passing of Neal McCoy's father, Hubert Neal "Pete" McGaughey at the age of 86 on Saturday. Neal announced the news Saturday morning on his Facebook page.

According to his obituary at tylerpaper.com, Hubert McGaughey was born in Jacksonville in 1930 and was valedictorian at Jacksonville High School. He earned a Bachelors of Science degree in Civil Engineering at Texas A&M. He served in the United States Army Corp of Engineers in the Philippines where he met Neal's mother.

In memoriam, Neal has asked that contributions be made to his East Texas Angel Network in Longview.

Services will be Wednesday at First Christian Church in Jacksonville with a private burial to follow.
