A story released today says that the National Transportation Safety Board is recommending that states ban the use of cell phones and all other electronic devices while driving. There would be an exception to this ban in only emergency situations.

The NTSB doesn't have authority to impose regulations, but its recommendations do carry significant weight with state lawmakers.

The boards recommendations come ofter determining that the collision in a deadly highway accident in Missouri in 2010 was caused by a 19 year old driver who had sent or received eleven text messages in the eleven minutes prior to the accident. That driver and a fifteen year old student on a school bus were killed in the accident.

Check out this video from the Today Show where they show video of accidents being caused by people texting while driving.  Would you be in favor of this becoming a state law in Texas?
