Police in Austin are investigating the theft of over $90,000 worth of beer from an Austin distributor.  That's over 700 12-packs of Dos Equis!

How did thieves manage to take that much beer from the premises?  Why did they take that much Dos Equis?

I guess you should never underestimate the power of advertising and the 'Most Interesting Man in the World'.

According to a report in the Austin American-Statesman, employees at Capital Distributing noticed the missing amounts of beer while taking inventory in September.  Authorities believe the culprits probably spent a couple of weeks taking the large amounts of Dos Equis from the warehouse.

Investigators with the Austin Police Department, the Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission and Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms searched an area in Dale, Texas, around 15 miles south of Austin's Bergstrom Airport, and found 719 12-packs of Dos Equis, one marijuana plant, 20 firearms, and $100,000 in cash.

Byron Arana, 32, and Wilmar Arana, 29, (mug shots above) were arrested and charged with misdemeanor distribution of alcohol without a license.  The investigation into the case continues as authorities believe other suspects are involved and more charges are to come.
