Regis Philbin Announces His Final ‘Live!’ Show Will Be November 18

He’s been talking about retiring from ‘Live! With Regis and Kelly’ for months, and now television stalwart Regis Philbin has announced his final show will be on Friday, November 18.
The show, which started in 1983 as a local New York City program called ‘The Morning Show,’ went national with co-host Kathie Lee Gifford in 1988. Actress Kelly Ripa stepped in as Gifford’s replacement after she left the show in 2000.
The next three months, dubbed the ‘Regis Farewell Celebration Season,’ will see new segments introduced and pay tribute to the popular host by revisiting moments from shows past.
In addition, many of Philbin’s favorite guests will return for a final on-air visit, with stars such as Matt Damon, Salma Hayek, Celine Dion, Jonah Hill, Taylor Lautner, and Tom Selleck all slated to make appearances this fall.
Philbin’s replacement has yet to be announced.
